Jesse is a 2 yr old Jack Russell, and up to the point I began training him with DOG-ON-IT! I trained him by myself. I couldn't find a good obedience trainer, and after doing lots of research and watching the videos on Toni's site I asked for a demo to see her training in action.
Jesse is a fearful, aggressive dog, and when he sees another dog he resorts to growling since he knows in the past that usually makes the other dog go away.
When Toni came out to do the demo I saw a transformation in Jesse. Within 5 minutes Jesse was sitting about 3ft from Stuff and was calm. My goal for Jesse was to have him be able to work around distractions and to not growl around other dogs.
After enrolling Jesse in the group classes, he started to ignore other dogs on leash and I was able to walk him in the pet store without worrying where the other dogs were. Jesse has become more confident around other dogs, and is now able to do sit stays and down stays in class for 3 minutes with dogs on each side of him. Jesse has made a huge improvement from when I first started group classes. I can now let him chase lizards at the park, and feel safe that he won't get hit by a car because now he has a reliable recall.
Toni is a wonderful trainer and she is very educated on the best way to use the e-collar. Jesse's spirits have never gone down and he is happy to do training. People should do their research about e-collars before labeling them as bad, I'm glad I did. Thank you Toni for helping Jesse reach his full potential, and for answering any question, no matter how small, I had about training.
